Meet The Maine Animal Coalition Board of Directors
Beth Gallie (President)
Beth is an attorney and lives in South Portland with her husband and two companion animals. She is a lifelong advocate for a plant-based diet. “A plant-based diet adds years to life and life to years.” She also enjoys studying animal law and has taken courses online at the Center for Animal Law Studies at Lewis and Clark Law School. In 2021 Beth formed the Animal Law Section of the Maine State Bar Association.
Colter Spearsmith (Treasurer)
Colter lives in Portland with his wife. Colter has been passionate about animal rights and veganism since 2017 and has worked with a variety of organizations in the past including Anonymous for the Voiceless, Peace Advocacy Network and Voters for Animal Rights. He is excited to engage with his community alongside the fine people at MAC. Colter is a programmer by trade, and also enjoys long distance running, baking and playing guitar.
Joshua Kidwell (Secretary)
Josh has over a decade of experience working for youth development and non-profit organizations. He earned his B.A. in English from the University of Maryland, and a M.S. in Sports Analytics & Management from American University. In recent years, he has become extremely passionate about the undeniable connections between our diets, animal welfare, and environmental degradation. Currently, he works for New Roots Institute, a nonprofit organization with a mission to empower the next generation with knowledge and training to end factory farming. Josh lives in South Portland with his wife, daughter, and two dogs. He enjoys adventuring with his wife, having dance parties with his daughter, snowboarding, and whipping up vegan meals for his family.
