Vegetarian Food Festival: MAC's 6th Annual Vegetarian Food Festival

Maine Animal Coalition's 6th Annual Vegetarian Food Festival was on Saturday, June 26th at the East End Community School on North Street in Portland, Maine. This year promises to feature the latest in food and wellness promoting a cruelty free lifestyle. The festival included free food samples, exhibitors, vendors, workshops, music, a raffle and more.

Workshop Speakers:

Susan Rooker, Be Greener - Go Vegan: Why Going Vegan Saves the Environment. Author of "The Practical Vegan," Susan, a South Portlander of many talents, has just been selected as a finalist in Compassion Over Killing's contest to create a vegan donut to compete in Dunkin' Donuts 2nd Annual "Create Dunkin's Next Donut Contest."

Mary Louise Town Jacqua, Juicing for Life...The Key to Ultimate Health! Wondering what all of this talk about a raw food diet is about? Attend this workshop by Mary Louise of the Living Way in Winslow, Maine and find out.

Dr. John Herzog, An Orthopedic Surgeon's Advice on How to Feed Your Bones. Dr. Herzog is an Osteopathic orthopedic surgeon and has been a physician for 30 years. He is board certified and a fellow in the American Osteopathic Orthopedic Academy. Based on research and personal experience Dr. Herzog is committed to spreading the word about the benefits of a plant based diet.

Toni Fiore, Host of Delicious TV, Meal Planning for the 21st Century - Presenting strategies and tips for preparing delicious food that won't break the bank and providing common sense advice about sustaining a healty plant-based diet.
