About MAC: Mission & Purpose

Since 1989, with the help of dedicated volunteers, the Maine Animal Coalition has worked to promote compassion towards all animals and to instill this compassion as a guiding principle in the State of Maine.

Education is our most important tool. We believe in educating the public about animal suffering and exploitation in hopes that this knowledge will fundamentally change society's approach to animals.

Members of the Maine Animal Coalition also believe in leading by example. Therefore, an important function of the Maine Animal Coalition is to provide members with information needed to live lives that minimize animal suffering.
